I've been blessed throughout my life with extraordinary teachers. Of all of them, Rabbi Rosenfeld stands apart as the finest. His brilliance, his love for Torah and for teaching its paths to generations of children and his intuitive ability to communicate to everyone at every level and stage of life made him an excellent teacher, but his deep love and dedication to his students are what separated him from even that elite.He never spoke of the horrors he experienced in the Holocaust and his hard glare when questioned was effective to quiet even rowdy children like me and my friends. Now, almost a year after his passing, I'm finally presented a window into that part of his life and his courage and strength.
Although I was last in his classroom in 1964, his friendship and guidance followed me until well into my own 60s.
An unforgettable man, this is his unforgettable story.
